About
I have lived in North Carolina for twenty years. Currently I'm checking off a bucket list item by living in downtown Raleigh. I enjoy walking around this incredible city, drinking iced coffee (year round), eating delicious food, traveling in general, and spending time with friends and family. An ideal free weekend consists of finding a new restaurant around town. Otherwise, I'll be taking a day trip to the beach with my girlfriend, Lily! Favorite Song right now: Dream State by Son Lux.
Music
Music has been a large part of my life. I grew up banging on things and got a drum set at age 8. I was a part of the advanced band in middle school, symphonic band in high school, as well as jazz band. I was also involved in marching band in the fall and indoor percussion ensemble in the winter.
After high school, I competed with Constitution Percussion, an Independent World Class Percussion Ensemble of Winter Guard International. I also joined the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps where we returned to Drum Corps International World Class finals for the first time in 23 years.
I began my instructional career by teaching the Cary High School Marching Percussion section in 2008. Since then I have worked with Carolina Gold Drum & Bugle Corps, Wake Forest Independent, and Cleveland High School. I have been a Snare Technician, Visual Designer, Battery Caption Head, Percussion Arranger, as well as Percussion Caption Head with those various groups.
Design
I took up photography at a young age. I enjoyed capturing images of places from unique angles. That led to poster design for local bands in the area. My knowledge and passion took off in a marketing course and job opportunity with Don Johnson Realty.
As the Creative Director, I created and maintained all print and digital collateral. That included photography, marketing material, brochures, videos, website creation, and social media posts. I am currently providing my design services for various clients.
